Seattle Safeco and Qwest fields heterosexual bias against homosexuals

In June we heard about a lesbian kiss causing an uproar at Safeco Field.

It seems Qwest field has taken a que from Safeco.

And, to add insult to injury, it was at the Cyndi Lauper True Colors concert.

As a resident of the Seattle area, I am appalled by these events. I moved from Texas to escape such small mindedness. It's truly a shame to see it in Seattle.

Over at The Stranger, Dominic Holden writes;

The staff at Qwest Field had every clue that gay couples would be attending the WaMu Theater on July 1.

After all, that night's concert was the Seattle stop on the True Colors tour. It starred Rosie O'Donnell and Cyndi Lauper, the stage was decorated with a rainbow and a pink triangle, and the event was billed as a fundraiser for organizations to "raise awareness about the discrimination the GLBT community still faces." But while the B-52s played a slow song, two lesbians who were sitting in the third row say a security guard approached them, shined his flashlight in their faces, and then lowered the beam onto their joined hands. He then gestured with his finger across his throat to "cut it out" and told them to "stop it," the women say.

Cyndi Lauper visits Luke and Noah on As The World Turns

American audiences of popular soap As The World Turns have been treated to a very sweet gay storyline of late, and producers of the show have recruited a gay icon to serenade the star-crossed homos.

Cyndi Lauper, the singer best known for her mega-hit True Colours, has been a fixture at Pride events and gay gatherings across America for many a year.

Gay entertainment news site AfterElton.com broke the story of her soap cameo after reporter Brian Juergens paid a visit to the As The World Turns.

"The pop legend will be making an appearance on the soap in connection with Luke and Noah," he reported.
