Last Wednesday I posted an article about The Commercial Closet Association.
One of their “featured” videos was a Heinz ketchup commercial running in England.
Interestingly Heinz has produced 3 other gay related commercials dating back to 2000. [link]
All of a sudden there is uproar about Heinz supporting homosexuals and the ad is pulled. [link]

The Commercial Closet Association
Many of us gay folks would like to see more gay related content on TV. Naturally we would prefer it in a positive light.
So I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across the Commercial Closet Association.
The Commercial Closet Association advocates for advertising that respects the diversity of all, specifically gender identity/expression and sexual orientation, for a more accepting society and better business results.
Shouldn't advertising convey respect instead of perpetuating stereotypes, homophobia and transphobia?
They have conducted countless LGBT-Awareness Ad Trainings to Fortune 500 corporations and top universities across the U.S. and internationally since 1997.
They are building a growing online global collection of 4,000+ GLBT-themed ads back to 1917, preserving ephemeral advertising history on our community. These include print, audio and video advertising.
Some of the advertisements will make you laugh and others will make you think.
