I also by comparison watched the horrifying video of police arresting and warehousing legitimate protesters at the Republican convention in 2004. I can honestly say there is really no comparison. New York was an unbelievable unacceptable mass overreaction by police and they were lucky they didn't kill anyone.
People correctly sued and won.

While I really don't like how the lady was knocked down in the first video, if you stand around screaming at people, and provoking people and causing trouble, yes, you are asserting your freedom of speech, but when police tell you to move twice, and you don't, you will be moved or arrested. The people that were surrounded in this case, as you can see in the video itself WERE NOT arrested en masse like they were in New York. The police have learned. The few who remained and were arrested, again were instigators and trouble makers. Everyone else was escorted out without arrest.

Hate the police if you like, but they didn't warehouse people without mirandizing them this time.

I am proud as a Denver resident the police that my tax money pays for are by and large respecting our public speech rights, not interfering in parades, and are not "out to get people". They are maintaining order, and making sure that the people who need to get in and out of the convention can do so on time.

Further, I really resent this mentality of "recreate 68", and the anarchist concept of let's make things as chaotic and dangerous for people as we can, just because. Rush Limbaugh wanted the same thing. He was wrong, and these anarchist groups are wrong.

Denver is MY city, and it has welcomed everyone here. It doesn't deserve chaos, drama, and nonsense, which invariably invites tragedy.

This is a wonderful positive week where history is being made, and Obama at long last is breaking the race barrier for high office.

People here want the focus to be on THAT, not on anarchist monkey street trash screaming and annoying people.

Those of us behaving orderly manner hate the war too. We just don't think that gives us the right to disrupt things and make assess out of ourselves.

The whole world is watching Denver this week, and I want them to see dignity, pride, and all the best America has to offer, not some hopped up camera freaks. So let the freaks get creative, put thought provoking ideas and videos on YouTube, but anarchists, stay at home and let the rest of us enjoy our Democratic process.

If you want to disrupt something, go to Minnesota next week and get in the faces of Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter and McSame lovers. They are the ones who hate your guts and want you dead. Stop disrupting the people who agree with you and are likely to support your causes and beliefs.

Thank you to the Denver police for keeping order and showing restraint around screaming monkey freak street trash.
