International Gay News Headlines (T25T-3)

Jan Moir, the Daily Mail columnist whose column on the death of gay Boyzone singer Stephen Gately provoked widespread anger, won the Stonewall Bigot of the Year Awards last night jointly with Father John Owen, the priest who said most paedophiles were gay.


Andrew Cowles, the civil partner of the late Boyzone star Stephen Gately, made his first public appearance last night at the Stonewall awards since the singer died four weeks ago.


A complaint against the Daily Mail by gay political blogger Iain Dale has not been upheld by the Press Complaints Commission. Dale complained that one column, published last month, was homophobic.


The ALSO foundation has responded to recent reports about its financial health, saying that despite experiencing a tough circumstances due in part to the economic crisis, the organisation is operationally sound, though things will be tight.
It hasn̢۪t been an easy year for Marcia Hines. When asked casually to reflect back on 2009 she uses terms like "trying" and "full on". This year Hines has played gigs across the country, filmed another season of Idol and has penned her first book.
Glee: The Music, Volume 1 is in stores now through Sony Music. Glee has been heralded for its high-spirited musical numbers, incredibly talented cast and infectiously witty writing. Glee is currently screening on Channel Ten.
