This doesn't surprise me, but I do sincerely hope that Obama maintains this stance when (if) he's elected. These are issues in which he's got the opportunity to affect some real change, and I'm hoping (though, I'll admit it, skeptically) that he'll come through - for all of us.
I think it's a bit sad trust is no longer "a given" in our own elected representatives. We've been lied to so many times we're all skeptical. Politics has been a selection of "the lesser of the evils" for quite some time. It seems much of the problem is the inability to resist corruption. Greed, in human kind, will be the end of us all.
